Quite possibly, the most photographed view in the world. And aptly so.
This pic is from the dusty archives collection. Probably one of the most memorable summers with my own warehouse of LEGO. BTW this is the replica of Nyhavn, probably the hippest part of happening Copenhagen.
The prefect place to relax after a hot day’s walk in Rome, grab some gelato and catch up with a few strangers.
(Peace) In the bustling metropolis of Shanghai lies this oasis of calm and tranquility which seems like an anachronism. An observer from outer space would feel like a time traveler as he enters the Yu garden from the crowded streets of modern Shanghai. China – a land of mystery and wonder…
China is one of the most fascinating places I have visited. Like this photograph China presents a dichotomy in every aspect of life — the ying and the yang, the old and the new. The next couple of posts will be dedicated to this wonderful land.
Probably the biggest sun dial anywhere in the world – Jantar Mantar in Rajasthan. It can tell time up to an accuracy of 2sec. One of my favorite photo shoots.
On the lines of the “Occupy Wall Street” campaign. They seemed more like merry makers than protesters. Good fun.
In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary. To Dennis Ritchie, a man beyond extraordinary. For the elegance, beauty and joy of programming. #include<stdio.h> main(){ printf(“Thank You!!\n”); }
Poorhome, an organization in my hometown provides free eye checkup and eye surgery to poorest of the poor. For most of these people, the lost of their eyesight means a loss of their family’s livelihood. If you really want to transform someone’s life, give them the gift of sight. Your donation would go a long [...]
Well almost. The winter is fast approaching and the weather has its mood swings but we do manage to steal a day or so of Sun. The Fisher’s Fine Arts library in the background. Some people will remember it from the movie Philadelphia.
The first computer I fell in love with was the Macintosh II. And after using Apple products for the last 10 years or so one thing I can definitely say is ”well done”. Thanks Steve, for those wonderful products, for PIXAR and for making technology so much fun. And for never compromising…
For all my friends on the job market. It will all be worth it. Just a little bit longer. Lets r0x0r!!
Somewhere in Rhode Island, the land of many lighthouses and few islands. Dedicated to the lovely Iaconos who made my visits to RI truly memorable.
View from my new bedroom. The trains in the distance and the whizzing cars on I-676 add to the merriment of the evening tea and snacks. Not to mention the mystical person who changes the light bulbs in the Amtrak building every night…
The corridors at Fatahpur Sikri, the palace of one of the greatest kings India ever saw – Akbar.
Ah Montreal!! All things French without the smugness. Undoubtedly my favorite city in North America (at least in the summers ).
Thiland happens to be one of my favorite places to backpack. Once you get beyond the raunchy din of night clubs and glitzy malls, Bangkok and Thailand in general is a traveler’s paradise. Ancient traditions, excellent food and some very beautiful and secluded beaches. Not to mention the ever welcoming and friendly people.
While we are on this topic of natural disasters, here is a pic from last year’s blizzard in NYC. It was so much fun walking around in the snow. Shout out to my peeps – Madsy, Gchak and Gourmet Singh for making it an unforgettable night .
Hurricane Irene thrashes the Brooklyn bridge. Thankfully, the intensity of the hurricane was considerably reduced and it didn’t cause as much damage as anticipated. (Pic borrowed from NY Times).
Rajasthan – one of the most beautiful places in the world. What nature did not provide (water), the people make up for in their colorfulness and hospitality.
Probably one of the most photographed monuments in India. Every time I see it, I am filled with awe and inspiration. It surprising how a tomb can stir such emotions.
Some random alleyway in Hong Kong. The business district is filled with weird looking bars and pubs and of course gazillions of strip clubs. It’s amazing how the city transforms between the hours of dusk and dark.
Some random shop on Rome. This is where all the Pinocchios come from. Take a lesson and do not lie.
@Eastern State Penitentiary, one of the most haunted places in America. I am not sure which is scarier, the setting or the subject.
Kanan- one of my favoriote hairdressers in Bangalore. He had this tiny, hole in the wall place between Residency road and Hosur Road. I loved those days when you could get a haircut for Rs. 10 (20 cents).
@ the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the venue for the Canadian Grand Prix. Unfortunately, when we visited, we could only see folks racing bicycles.
The Tsongo lake is situated in Sikkim, a northeast state of India. It continuously replenished by the melting glaciers and the water is always crystal clear when its not frozen. Measuring almost a kilometer in length, its considered very sacred by the people of Sikkim. Its one of the most peaceful places I have visited.
A girl enjoying herself during the colorful festival of Holi. This happens to be one of my favorite Indian festivals where perfect strangers would walk up to you and put color on you, all in good spirit. And of course, there is all the wonderful food…
